A new initiative of the CM SIG is the launching of its YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChIqofsIJf45l1rfqFMAC4Q). The intention is to increase awareness of Characteristic Mode Analysis as a useful tool for the design and analysis of antenna systems. More videos will be added as they become available.Read More →

Lund University (Zachary Miers and Buon Kiong Lau) has released the basic version of its in-house characteristic mode analysis software for public use. The software and the instruction video can be found here. This version can only handle perfect electric conductors (PEC), and it is meant to allow researchers not having access to commercial software with this feature to try out this powerful analysis method. Please note that no user support can be provided and Lund University can give no guarantee of the code’s correctness.Read More →

Finally! Special Issue on “Theory and Applications of Characteristic Modes” was recently published in the July 2016 issue of the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation. The Special Issue is the result of a big joint effort by many members of our Special Interest Group. The Special Issue Guest Editorial that introduces the field as well as the article can be read here.Read More →
